Introducing...Take Three

The essential part of creativity is not being afraid to fail. - Edwin H. Land

I've been in a bit of a slump...mojo's been hiding on me...and I haven't been able to get much done, creatively speaking.  It that time of the year for me.  The holiday trinkets that I so love have been packed up and put away...and it's January in northern Illinois.  All best described in one word...gray.  Ugh.

And there's the new...and amazing...2017 Occasions Catalog.  So much goodness that it's almost too much...for this girl's brain, anyway.  It happens with each new catalog release...so much excitement...and then, overload.  What to use?  Can I do it well?  Can I compare?  Will I fail?

I you know me you know I'm a family therapist...in training anyway.  Trained to ask questions that focus on solutions.  What would it look like if I knew what to use?  What does doing well look like?  How would I knew if I was successful?

And it came to me...my own solution.  Pick three new products that I love...use them in a way that moves me creatively...and don't be afraid of the result.  Take three...and let go of the fear!  So here it is...my Take Three.

My take three products weren't totally random.  I wanted to use a paper, an embellishment and dies...so I chose Cupcakes & Carousels DSP Stack, Lace Doilies and Window Box Thinlits Dies.

I focused on colors that are not really my jam...Bermuda Bay and Peekaboo Peach.  But I kind of like it!

Was my Take Three solution successful?   I think so!

As always...

  2. I love the idea of take 3, and your results are great. I am going to have to just grab 3 things to work with and give it a try.
